One of the world's most loved cooking shows is back and this time, it's got a brand new home in the culinary capital of Australia - Melbourne.
In the brand new kitchen, 22 ambitious contestants will be chasing their dream to become Australia's next MasterChef.
Matt Preston returns beside judges George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan as they put 22 of Australia's best home cooks through their paces in the kitchen.
The net has been cast far and wide with contestants from all four corners of the country and the most diverse cultural backgrounds seen in the MasterChef Australia kitchen to date.
For the first time ever, the competition jumps straight into the Top 22 stage and kicks off at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground with a girls versus boys challenge, but who will come out on top?
Series 5 will not only highlight the classic tastes of MasterChef Australia, but will take some new dishes to the table. Themed weeks will see contestants go to boot camp in the Barossa wine region, get in touch with their inner chils in kids' week and go red, white and green for Italian week - and that's just the beginning.
George, Gary and Matt will also be joined by a host of top chefs along the way, including Antonio Carluccio, Stephanie Alexander, Curtis Stone, Shannon Bennett, Maggie Beer and Guillaume Brahimi, to name just a few.
The MasterClass has also had a makeover. For the first time ever, they will be filmed in front of a live audience who'll see the culinary action first-hand.
With all these ingredients, MasterChef Australia will take the contestants on a rollercoaster ride as they battle it out for the coveted title which could change their lives forever.
