Vladimir almost considered dropping out of the competition last year after his mum became seriously ill with cancer and very sadly passed away. He says that she and his father were always there supporting him through the competition and so this year, he is doing it in memory of his mum.
Vladimir has two children and chose to take the job of Section Chef at the university to give him more time at home with his family. He sets his own menu and produces a very high standard of food.
He listens to metal music for a few minutes to get him in the right frame of mind before cooking. He uses the beat to set the pace he has to work at, and then goes for it!

Braised fillet of stone bass, veinnoise crust, crispy tentacles, smoked pink fir apples potatoes and savoy cabbage.
